Physical Education

The physical education Curriculum Area aims to enable students to become successful learners who enjoy physical activity, make progress and achieve their potential.

Through a diverse programme of activities, students have the opportunity to discover their personal aptitudes while developing their communication, and leadership skills along with concepts of fairness and social responsibility.

Our aim is to equip our students with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to enable them to participate fully in healthy active lifestyles and develop a lifetime love of physical activity.

Our extensive extra curricula programme offers a variety of individual and team activities designed to cater for a wide range of pupil aptitudes and interests. Extra curricula provision is delivered by a combination of PE specialists and external coaches.

Clubs on offer include, Basketball, Hockey, Zumba, Netball, Table Tennis, Boxercise, Fitness, Cricket, Rounders, Tennis, Rugby, Dance, Golf and Athletics plus many other additional taster sessions throughout the year.

The Physical education department, offer after school clubs that pupils of all abilities are welcome to attend. Teams in all year groups are entered into leagues, tournaments and fixtures in a wide range of sports and pupil’s are also provided with the opportunity to develop other skills, through acting as leaders for local primary school competitions and sports events. The school teams are very successful both in local league’s and in county and national competitions’. We aim to ensure that all girls who wish to compete for the school do get this opportunity in recognition for their commitment to after school clubs.

To stretch and challenge our talented sports women , an enriched gifted and talented programme is also a strong feature of the department, enabling students to pursue their interest in sport to higher levels and develop and support their existing talents.
